Have a great time learning the little-known "Freeze and Fire" technique of casting glass. Learn about the glass, how to make casting molds out of objects, and cast several pieces yourself in completed molds provided by us. All glass materials provided. After the molds are full of a glass/water emulsion that you have created, they will be frozen overnight at -10F. You will then return and remove your rock-hard glass from the molds and place them in the kiln for firing. This technique is less complicated and easier than "lost wax" casting, and from our point of view, a lot more fun. All students will also be provided a class outline, a firing schedule, and a list of material supplier's contact info for those of you who can't stop this wonderful glass journey.
